The Spencer
family, their black Labrador Annabelle and tabby cat Tanga at St Victor du Fau offer you a
warm welcome at their luxury and large 2 bedroom Ariegeoise self-catering farmhouse with attached
self catering 1 bedroom apartment "L'Ecurie" and the "Beech Room" - Bed and Breakfast accommodation. St Victor du Fau,
a typical Ariegeoise farmhouse built circa 1800’s has been charmingly restored
by its present owners. Deceptively modest in size from the front of the property, on entering the front door, the rooms are
large and bright. The house has been modernised and brought into the 21st century whilst retaining its charm and
many original features.

Set in a gentle valley amongst the rolling hills on 50 acres of open farmland and
about 12 acres of woods on a "Reserve Nationale" (national park), at the end of a half-mile drive, only 5kms
from the important and medieval town Pamiers. The roads nearby the property
were used as part of the major cycling race "Le Tour de France" in the summer of 2006. The locality is a conservation
area and is outstandingly beautiful and peaceful. It is an ideal holiday location for guests seeking peace
and calm, in a rural location, yet minutes from very good local amenities.
THE 2 BEDROOM FARMHOUSE GITE
The self
catering Farmhouse Gite accommodates up to 4 people from May until end of September in
2 ensuite bedrooms, double and twin.
1 BEDROOM APARTMENT
The self
catering apartment "L'Ecurie" accommodates up to 2 people for nightly (minimum
2 nights) or weekly accommodation all year or longer lets between 27th
September 2009 & end of May 2010. L'Ecurie is on the ground
floor, is 75m2 and has its own private entrance.
BED & BREAKFAST - The Beech Room
The Beech Room accommodates
up to 2 people nightly or weekly throughout the year. It
has a kingsize double bed with ensuite shower room located on the ground floor with nearby parking facilities.

IN-HOUSE CUISINE
Sara is a Cordon Bleu trained cook with Leith's School of Food & Wine
in London. Lunch or evening meals can be provided for our Bed & Breakfast or Self Catering guests. Our
menu can be sent on booking or is available during your stay.
To ensure your choice of meal is available, these should be ordered at least 24
hours ahead of the meal or certain choices may not be available.
We ask guests who are eating in the evening to arrive at the latest by 8pm.
If there is a reason for a delay; planes traffic etc., we ask that you call us to let us know what time you expect to arrive.
BIRTHDAY CAKES
If you are celebrating your Birthday whilst with us, nearby is a British cake maker who
makes bespoke and novelty cakes; the types are basic sponge, madeira, butter cake, carrot cake,
coffee and walnut, coconut, chocolate and rich tipsy fruit cake. Please contact us for details.
PETS
Pets
are also welcome to stay in either the B&B "The Beech Room" (double room) or in "L'Ecurie"
(self-catering 1 bedroom apartment) by prior arrangement between September & April. Sadly we cannot accommodate
guest's pets in the Farmhouse Gite. We do not allow pets to sleep on the bed, so we request that you bring a blanket
or basket for your pet to sleep on/in. Thank you.
MISCELLANEOUS FACILITIES
Have our local mobile hairdresser
sort out your hair or have a hour's body massage without having to leave St Victor
du Fau.
Horse-riding
can be arranged with the local equestrian centre across the valley. Individuals or groups can be taken out on hacks
around the local area.
White water-rafting, parachuting
or canoeing can be organised. During the summer months, to guarantee white water-rafting and
parachuting, guests are advise to confirm booking of these activities at least 1 month in advance.
LOCATION & DISTANCES
Pamiers is large town with a number of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and shops and is an hour’s
drive from either Carcassonne or Toulouse airport and only 10 minutes drive from the A66 Autoroute/N20 which then
continues south to Andorra. BA, Easyjet, Flybe, BMI Baby, Air France and Jet2
all fly into Toulouse from the UK. Ryanair
flies into Carcassonne, Perpignan, Pau and Girona (Barcelona).
Driving from the Brittany coast takes about 9 hours & from Calais about
10 hours. Private plane flyers can take advantage of the small local airport (for
light aircraft only) at Les Pujols which is a 15 minute drive from the farmhouse. Taxis and car hire can
be arranged for our guests.
OTHER VILLAGES, TOWNS AND PLACES
There are other large towns nearby which are Foix, Mirepoix
& St Girons, plus other lovely villages of Escosse, Carla Bayle, Maz D’Azil, St Martin D’Oydes, Le Fossat,
Benagues, Madiere , Unzent, Bonnac & Pailhes all of which are within 25 minutes drive. The Pyrenean ski resorts of Ax-Bonascre,
Les Monts D’Olmes (downhill) and Plateau de Beille & Domaine du Chioula (cross-country & raquettes) are all
possible to reach within an hour. The large walled fortress town of Carcassonne is an easy drive of about an hour.
The seaside Mediterranean towns of Narbonne, Gruisson & Leucate are about 1.5 hours away by car.
Andorra is about a 2 hour drive which is tax-free and not part of France.

Stunning views of the Pyrenees can be seen from the end of the
drive plus the rolling hills West of Pamiers and beyond. This is a fantastic location for walks
and touring the fine Cathar countryside which is steeped in history. Many local towns and places have been mentioned
in books such as The Labyrinth and The Albigensian Crusade.

Apart from walking the local area is ideal for rambling,
photography, bird watching, cycling, ski-ing, sledging, raquette walking or wildlife watching and enjoying
the beauty of the surrounding area in the clean, fresh air.
A car, motorbike or bicycle is essential to get to St
Victor du Fau. There is ample parking and dry storage.
